Over the past 2 years I’ve been teaching myself a more traditional form of bookbinding using leather covers. Once the leather is on the book, I use antique brass stamps which are heated up to stamp designs into the covers and spine, sometimes with gold foil, sometimes just blind. It’s been a fun learning curve!

Here are some of the tools I use, in an antique sewing box I’ve refinished and modified to hold them. Below are some process photos.
