Extraordinary Voyages

In most of the world, Jules Verne is regarded as one of the fathers of science fiction, and a holds the same standing as Shakespeare. However, due to poor/incorrect translations in the United States, his books are often marketed to kids. This is ironic, because many of his books are full of detailed and accurate descriptions of natural phenomena and scientific principles. Verne tried to make them as realistic as he could.

This cover and slipcase design is an attempt to elevate Verne’s work and make it appeal to an adult audience, without alienating younger readers. The design also emphasizes history of the books, which were originally published as serials in various newspapers and journals.
